Election Commission announced the election schedule of 5 states

Voting will be held in 7 phases in Uttar Pradesh and 2 phases in Manipur and 1 phase in Goa, Punjab and Uttarakhand.

Election Commission has ban on all types of rallies and road shows till January 15.

New Delhi: The Election Commission on Saturday announced the election schedule of 5 states including Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Goa, Manipur and Uttarakhand. Polling will be held in 7 phases in Uttar Pradesh while in Manipur in 2 phases. Voting will be held in 1 phase in the rest of the states. At the same time, the results of the voting will be declared simultaneously on March 10 2022.

Chief Election Commissioner Mr. Sushil Chandra announced the election schedule at Vigyan Bhawan in Delhi on Saturday. Voting will be held in Uttar Pradesh on February 10, February 14, February 20, February 23, February 27, March 03 and March 07. Polling will be held in Punjab, Uttarakhand and Goa on February 14. Manipur will go to polls on February 27 and March 3.

Giving information about the corona related arrangements, the Chief Election Commissioner said that all election officers and employees will be called corona warriors and they can take both the doses of the vaccine along with that booster dose.

Mr. Sushil Chandra requested all political parties to campaign through virtual medium. It has also been said that according to the instructions of the SDM, any program can be done only by following the corona protocol. The number in this will also be decided by the SDM after seeing the situation of Corona locally. All types of rallies and road shows will be banned till January 15, which the Election Commission will review later and take a decision on whether to continue it further.
