India’s 2nd Bullet train, work to be started very soon, route map ready for High speed rail Corridor!

Delhi – Varanasi high speed rail corridor is India’s second bullet train project after the Mumbai – Ahmedabad High Speed Rail Corridor. The 865-kilometre high speed rail corridor will connect Delhi to Varanasi through 22 districts of Uttar Pradesh with 12 proposed stations which are Delhi, Noida, Jewar Airport, Mathura, Agra, New Etawah, South Kannauj, Lucknow, Raibareli, Prayagraj, New Bhadohi and Varanasi.

This project will be completed in 4 stages:

  1. Delhi to Agra
  2. Agra to Lucknow
  3. Lucknow to Prayagraj
  4. Prayagraj to Varanasi

The National High-Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL) will be submitted a detailed draft report by August to the Ministry of Railways. In the initial report, Bullet train will be started from Delhi (Sarai Kale Khan) and two station in Gautam Budh Nagar, 1st will be Noida, Sector – 148 and 2nd will be Jewar Airport.

YEIDA officials said, the high-speed rail project will run parallel to the Noida-Greater Noida expressway, Yamuna Expressway, and Agra-Lucknow Expressway. In first stage, Bullet train will cover distance: approx. 65 KM from Delhi to Jewar Airport in just 21 minute and another 125 KM in 33 minutes to reach at Agra.

Bullet trains will be run on the rail corridor at average speed of 300 KM/Hour and distance of 865 KM between Delhi and Varanasi will be completed in less than 4 hours including stoppage timing.
